Choose a board
Tap a bright tile and it moves into the tray at the top. The tray holds four tiles. When two tiles in the tray have the same picture, they vanish. Clear the whole board to finish.
The tray is also a place to put a tile out of the way for a while. A tile can be moved when it is free: nothing is on top of it, and it has an open space on its left or its right. Free tiles look bright. Blocked tiles look dim.
There is no timer and nothing to lose. You can undo as many times as you like, and ask for a hint whenever you want one. If the tray fills up, Undo takes tiles back one at a time, or Shuffle puts the tray tiles back on the board and mixes up everything that is left.
The smaller boards are the easiest on a phone. The bigger ones are best on a tablet or computer.
Traditional is the classic Mahjong set. Pictures are simple drawings, like a sun or a key. You can switch at any time, even in the middle of a game.
