When the computer bats, you choose each pitch and you make the plays in the field.
Pause anytime
There is a Pause button, and the game pauses by itself if you switch away.
About this game
Baseball Lite is a simple, old school baseball game, drawn from above like the handheld games of long ago. A game is 3, 5 or 9 innings. In each inning you bat once and the computer bats once. When you bat, the computer pitches and you swing. When the computer bats, you pitch, and when the ball is hit you field it. Three strikes are an out, four balls are a walk, and three outs end a half inning. You choose how well the computer plays: Gently, Fairly or Well.
How to play
Swing on time.
When you bat, watch the ball come in and tap Swing, or tap the field, just as it reaches home plate. Early pulls the ball toward third, late sends it toward first, and a swing right on time hits it far.
Choose a pitch.
When the computer bats, choose a fastball, a curve ball or a slow pitch with the buttons, then tap the pitcher on the mound to throw it. The fastball is quick, the curve ball bends late, and the slow pitch gives the batter more time. Your choice stays chosen until you change it.
Tap the orange ball.
When a fielder reaches the ball, it turns orange and gets a dashed ring with a circle that slowly shrinks. Tap the ball before the circle runs out. A ball caught in the air is an out.
Throw to a base.
After you catch the ball, tap the base you want to throw to. Runners keep running until the ball is safe in a fielder's hands, so throw to the base a runner is heading for, and get there first.
Hints and saving
Hints: There are no hints in this game. The ball turns orange and gets a dashed ring when it is time to tap it, the pitcher gets a dashed outline when it is time to pitch, and the bases get dashed outlines when it is time to throw. Pause whenever you need a moment.
Saving: Your record of wins, losses and ties is saved on this device, along with the level and number of innings you picked. A game in progress is not saved, so finish it or leave it before you close the game.
