About this game
Sudoku is a puzzle of numbers on a grid of nine rows and nine columns, split into nine boxes of three by three. Fill every empty square with a number from 1 to 9 so that each row, each column and each box has every number exactly once. There are three levels, Gentle, Medium and Tricky, with ten puzzles of each. You can pick any puzzle at any time, and nothing is locked. Every puzzle has just one answer and can be worked out step by step, so you never need to guess.
How to play
Tap a square.
Tap an empty square. Its row, its column and its box are shaded, so you can see what it has to agree with.
Tap a number.
Tap a number under the board to put it in the square. Tap Erase to take it out. The numbers that came with the puzzle are in bold and cannot be changed.
Fill every square.
If a number repeats in a row, column or box, the squares are marked with a dashed outline and a message says so. When every square is right, the puzzle is done. Then pick the next one.
Stuck? Ask for a hint.
Hint picks a square you can fill in next and explains why only that number fits. Undo goes back one step at a time, as far as you like. Start over clears the puzzle, after asking first.
Hints and saving
Hints: Tap Hint any time, as often as you like. It picks a square you can fill in right now and says why, for example that only one number fits there, or that a number has only one place left in its row, column or box. If a number you entered is not right, the hint says so first. Notes lets you pencil in small numbers if you like. It starts off, and you never need it.
Saving: Your place in each puzzle is saved on this device after every move, so it is just as you left it when you come back. Finished puzzles are marked done. Start over asks first.
